Instead, the throttle is governed by wire and is now… In recent years, Harley-Davidson has eliminated the need for throttle cables on a number of their models. Instead, the throttle is governed by wire and is now part of the motorcycle'

Drive-by-Wire. The drive-by-wire system is a potentially confusing portion of the wiring conversion. Each engine that uses the drive-by-wire system requires a specific pedal, throttle body, and, in some cases, a TAC module. In most cases, the drive-by-wire components are not interchangeable.Throttle-by-wire-- Throttle-by-wire, or accelerate-by-wire, was the first type of drive-by-wire system introduced. These systems use a pedal unit and an engine management system. The pedal uses sensors that measure how much or how little the driver moves the accelerator, and the sensors send that information to the engine management system. Here is a chart that will show the wire color, description, and where the wire needs to go in the PCM plugs. The wire color and location shown match 2003+ express vans that had mechanical drive by cable throttle bodies. You CAN use the oil pressure sensor plug from a 2003+ harness for the throttle position sensor. Pay attention that the 5v ref
Fly by wire throttles are driven by servo motors in conjunction with a potentiometer. In english, when you push the throttle it takes readings to see were it is, and then the servo opens the throttle to the correct place. The more readings it takes the better it is, but that takes a more powerful 'brain'.
